Having gone through all the three sessions of the XMU Laboratory Talent Competition (Poster Presentation, Experimental Skills Competition and Talent Show), COE’s team The Descendants of Ocean beat 11 teams from other colleges and gained the first prize on May 19th. The team members belong to the Laboratory of Molecular Biology & Immunotoxicology having professor WANG Kejian in charge, 34 staff and graduate students.
In the first session, Poster Presentation, The Descendant of Ocean designed beautiful posters to show its achievements & activities. In the Experimental Skills Competition, the team picked the subject of Detection of Acidity and VC Content of Fruit Drinks in Xiang’an Campus. After a series of rigorous experiments, it ranked the 3rd place.
In the finals, The Descendant of Ocean displayed comprehensively its style and the members’ talent. The members not only designed their show dresses but also wrote a team song You Are My Family. In order to call on audience to protect the marine environment and rare sea animals, the team performed a drama named Looking for the Descendants of Ocean. Through the team’s great efforts, perfect interpretation and its rich performing forms such as singing, dancing, freestyle basketball, nunchakus show and instruments playing, it finally won the champion of the competition, the Best Performance Award and the Outstanding Experimental Skills Award.
