Prof. Yihang Jiang, the Project Manager, trained as physical oceanographer in the Ocean University of China. After served in the State Oceanic Administration, China as the Deputy Director of Ocean Survey Division, he joined the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. He worked in the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 1988-1993. He joined in the establishment of the IOC Regional Office for WESTPAC in Bangkok, and was the first staff of the office. In 1998, he transferred from UNESCO to UNEP, and worked as Senior Expert in the East Asian Seas Regional Co-ordinating Unit (EAS/RCU), and the UNEP/GEF South China Sea project.
