Severe Weather and Climate Change Research Group
Our group focuses on the mechanisms of severe weather events under a changing climate. Through advanced numerical simulations and multi-source observational data, we delve into mesoscale processes and large-scale dynamics in the atmosphere. We are especially interested in convective storms associated with flooding, hail, and damaging winds and wintertime cold extremes, as well as the responses of these severe weather phenomena to climate change. Our goal is to provide actionable insights that can improve the prediction of disastrous weather and contribute to the broader scientific understanding of weather and climate systems.
