Our laboratory is dedicated to investigating the production and transformation of organic matter (OM) in the ocean, as it plays a crucial role in the elemental cycle. We specialize in developing advanced analytical methods to measure trace level organic tracers and characterize the molecular composition of OM. These powerful tools allow us to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms that drive the OM cycle in the ocean.
In addition, our lab applies cutting-edge mass spectrometry techniques to identify emerging organic contaminants in urbanized estuary environments. We investigate their occurrences, sources, and environmental behaviors. Our research seeks to shed light on the impact of these contaminants on the ocean ecosystem and human health.
We welcome applications from talented master's and Ph.D. candidates, as well as post-doctoral research scientists who share our passion for exploring the ocean and advancing our knowledge of OM dynamics and emerging contaminants. Join us in our exciting journey of discovery!
