The first 41 students of Marine Biotechnology from China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) have left for Malaysia on September 23rd, 2016. And they have completed 6 weeks of language training at Xiang’an Campus in order to be better prepared for the learning and living in Malaysia.
Students graduating from XMUM shall be conferred the diploma and the academic certificate by Xiamen University, which shall be acknowledged by both the Malaysian government and the Chinese government. In this way, they can enjoy more opportunities to work or for further study in both of the two countries. Moreover, students majoring in Marine Biotechnology will promote the rational use of Marine biological resources, and will also improve further understanding and appreciation of such resources. Besides pursuing advanced studies, graduates are also qualified for Marine-related or Mari-culture scientific research, teaching and management work, research and administrative work in Marine Environmental Monitoring departments or Environmental Protection departments, and work at relevant enterprises.
